INTO UEA students can call for first aid or get emergency help if they feel unsafe with UEA's new SafeZone app.

Safezone is a free UEA app which provides medical assistance at the touch of a button, or thanks to a check in feature, the app puts you in direct touch with a member of the Security Team’s staff.

Alice Goldsney, UEA(SU) Women’s Officer, shared her experience of using the app for added reassurance when alone on campus: “I have only really started using SafeZone this year and I'm really impressed with the app. It makes me feel so much more confident when I'm split from my friends walking to just the car park, even, on a night out. Also, in winter it is great having that extra element of safety even in the afternoon. DOWNLOAD SAFEZONE Go to www.safezoneapp.com or search for it in your App store, then follow the instructions for your device. You will need to register with your UEA email address and review the permissions for the app to be aware of your location, your motion and to use Bluetooth. You should also allow push notifications, so that the University can send emergency warnings and communicate with you if you raise an alert.  To find out more about SafeZone and how it’s used across campus, take a look at SafeZone myUEA.
